About Goodway Landscape The Oregon Garden has an interesting history. Back in the '90s, when the city of Silverton needed to find a use for its reclaimed water and the Oregon Association of Nurserymen needed a reliable water source for its proposed garden, the two came together to form The Oregon Garden. The wetlands in the Garden now provide a natural filtration system for the city's recycled water.

Organic Flower and Rose is recommended for all types of flowering plants including annuals, perennials, roses and flowering shrubs.

Koi need to be fed, and if you feed your Koi from a consistent location your Koi can be conditioned to be rather friendly! If you purchase Koi for your pond (see below), * feed them every other day for about 2-3 minutes, then stop. Do not feed them everyday! Avoid corn meal in your Koi food, and instead seek “fish meal” or other fish protein as the first ingredient on the label; the protein content should be between 35-40%. Color enhancers are also good ( spirulina, canthaxanthin ), and a stabilized Vitamin C is crucial. If you leave for vacation Koi will help the other fish nibble on the algae and both will work to give you a maintenance free water garden!

Annual Check-Ups and Spring Cleaning

* Change out the Bioligical filters (or the lava rock) located in the Bio-Falls™ net no more than once a year.
* Ponds larger than 2,000 gallons may only need a clean-out every few years, and larger ponds may never need a spring clean out! The larger the pond, the easier it is to maintain. Generally you can tell just by looking at the pond. If it looks the same in March as it did in june, then you can skip these steps. Most of our customers have never had to worry about this process.
o Drain the Pond.
o Disconnect the Circulation system.
o Catch the Fish (Drain pond to 12 inches of water in order to catch fish easily and safely).
o Remove Debris.
o Rinse the Pond / Spray Rocks.
o Clean the Filters.
o Refill the Pond.
o De-Chlorinate the Water (Check levels).
o Acclimate Fish
